Vegetable retail prices up by 100 % in Guwahati markets
Prices of most of vegetables like cabbage, chilly, tomato, cauliflower, brinjal have seen a price rise between 80-100% in retail markets of Guwahati.
There are huge differences between prices of retail and wholesale markets due to illegal syndicate.
As for the gap between the wholesale and retail prices, it is as much as over 25 rupees in tomato and over 40 rupees for brinjal.
The abrupt rise in prices of essential commodities is adversely affecting the budget of the common man of Assam.
Despite the fact that it is the retailers, who are responsible for the high price, the Sarbananda Sonowal led BJP government is not taking any strict action against them.
